Taco Bell, A Modern Day Love Story

So apparently since 2017, Taco Bell has been offering special Taco Bell wedding services at their Las Vegas Catina location.

So here are some things you get for booking a Taco Bell Wedding:

  • Custom Taco Bell Wedding Merch Swag that includes
    • Sauce packet garter and bow tie
    • Just Married t-shirts
    • Champagne flutes
    • A Cinnabon delights cake
    • Taco Party Pack
  • Access to their Unique Chapel
    • Half-hour Ceremony coordinated by Flora Pop
  • Reception Area
    • Private Wedding Reception inside the Taco Bell Restuarant with up to 25 of your closest family and friends
  • One of Kind Bouquet
    • A taco bell sauce packet that is available to borrow and walk down the aisle during the wedding

Taco Bell has now taken now this one step further by holding #TacoBellMetaverseWeddingContest, in which they provide the winners with a Wedding in the Metaverse.

To be entered applicants will have to hop on Instagram and Tik Tok and film a video espousing their passion for each other and Taco Bell, as well as an explanation of why the virtual realm is the right fit. Tacos Bell’s best selling points for this Metaverse wedding:

  • Weddings cost expensive
  • A metaverse wedding offers endless opportunities
  • Couples and their guests NFT wearables for their Decentraland avatars

Regardless of what we may think about both this real or metaverse wedding. These are both genius marketing tactics for the following reasons:

  • First, we have to take a look at their audiences. It’s obvious they are not trying to target an older audience with these campaigns.
    • For example, their Metaverse contest is through Instagram and Tik Tok, and Facebook, and that makes sense because these tend to have much younger audiences compared to Facebook.
  • Second, cost efficiency for both these events seems to be a primary focus, and again that targeted more towards millennials and Gen Z audiences who have pulled away from more traditional expensive weddings
  • Third, Like everyone else in the world, Taco Bell bought into the Metaverse hype and invested in Centraland Space. So while Metaverse and Crypto interest is down, they are choosing to not ignore their investment and still find ways to utilize it.
  • Last, free advertising, whether it’s people posting at their real wedding in vegas or couples trying to win their metaverse contest, they are creating a buzz for their company and having people market their company for a low-cost spend.

By creating this contest, they are creating a buzz for their company and also garnering free promotion from customers looking to win an elaborate Metaverse wedding.

So how does this all fit in for you if you are a business? So as a business, this could be something you can look to implement yourself. Whether it’s a contest or a challenge, you can offer something your business offers for free as a prize, thus creating an incentive for people to advertise your business for close to nothing.

Things to think about if you are a business?

  • Are you targeting specific businesses?
  • Are there social media contest opportunities for your business?
  • What kind of prizes can your business offer that is only unique to your business?
